Join Us for the 44th Annual Lotus Festival: Celebrating the Vibrant Culture of the Republic of Korea as the Festival’s Host Country
The two day celebration honors the heritage, traditions & contributions of the Korean community in the heart of Los Angeles at Echo Park Lake
Los Angeles - The Department of Recreation and Parks along with Los Angeles Lotus Festival, Inc. and the Korean Cultural Center, Los Angeles (KCCLA) are proud to announce the 44th Lotus Festival will honor and showcase the people and heritage of the Republic of Korea. Originating in 1972 as one of the City’s largest festivals, the Lotus Festival honors and celebrates the diverse Asian and Pacific Islander communities all across Los Angeles, fostering understanding and connection through cultural exchange.
The 44th Lotus Festival will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 from Noon to 10:00 p.m., with the opening ceremony beginning at Noon and on Sunday, July 13, 2025 from Noon to 8:00 p.m. at Echo Park Lake, 751 Echo Park Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90026.
Highlights of the Lotus Festival Include:
● Opening Ceremony: Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Noon
● Lights of Dreams Festival: An adaptation of the Korean Giant Lantern Festival, this interactive experience will include a captivating light display on the lake.
● Dragon Boat Races: A competitive boat race on the lake with participants that include: Community Groups, Corporate Teams, City Departments and more on the eight member teams.
● Korean Artistry Performance Stages: Showcasing traditional and modern cultural expressions ?- Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 1:30 ~ 3:00 p.m.
● Korean Pavilion: Experiencing the Lotus Craft, Korean traditional knot craft, Korean calligraphy and Hanbok experience.
● Drone Show: Artistry and innovation illuminates the night sky with captivating aerial performances using advanced drone technology & animations.

With the largest Korean diaspora outside of Korea, LA is stronger because of the contributions of Korean Americans. The Lotus Festival not only honors the captivating beauty of the lotus flower, but this year it will also embrace the vibrant spirit and rich cultural heritage of Korea.”
“Los Angeles is home to the largest Korean communities outside of Korea, and we’re proud to celebrate that rich culture right here at the iconic Echo Park Lake. As the lotus flowers reach full bloom, we look forward to welcoming over 100,000 visitors to the 44th Annual Lotus Festival to honor the vibrant traditions, food, and music of Korea,” said Councilmember Hugo Soto-Martinez, who represents the 13th Council District, which includes Echo Park Lake.
“The Lotus Festival brings culture and community into full bloom,” said Councilmember Eunisses Hernandez. “For 44 years, it has honored the contributions of Asian and Pacific Islander communities with pride and purpose. Thanks to the Department of Recreation and Parks and Lotus Festival, Inc., this tradition continues to fill Echo Park with family-friendly activities each year, and we look forward to it.”

Admission to the family-friendly festival is free, however, there is a nominal fee for food, craft items, clothing and other merchandise. Limited shuttle services and sign language interpreters are also provided at no charge.
