Cohosted by KCCLA, Cultural Heritage Administration, and Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation, the <2023 Visit Korean Heritage Campaign X KCCLA - Meeting Korean Royal Desserts in LA> has come to you.
As part of the “Visit Korean Heritage Campaign”, this event is a special experience event in which you can have a taste of the desserts and herbal teas once enjoyed in palaces in Korea.
You can enjoy Korean royal desserts and herbal teas of "Kohojae" made by

ㅇ Participation Fee: Free (apply online in advance)
ㅇ Event Info: Watching Korean traditional court dance performances (Chunaengjeon and Gayageum) while enjoying Korean royal desserts and herbal teas.

ㅇ Number of participants: Total 384 (32 per session, 4 sessions per day for three days)
※ 1 application per person during the application period.
ㅇ Application Period: August 1 (Tuesday) through August 8, 2023 (Tuesday)

【Kohojae Menu】
ㅇ Four types of royal desserts: Pan-fried Flower Rice Cake, Royal Honey Cookie, three types of Candy (Candied Kumquat, Candied Raspberry, and Candied Omija Pear), and Sweet Walnut Puffs (If you have a nut allergy, Bean Tea Confectionery will be served instead.)
ㅇ 1 type of royal herbal tea: Select either Omija Tea or Plum Blossom Tea
- Pan-fried Flower Rice Cake : Pan-fried Flower Rice Cake is a royal rice cake topped with flower petals and fried in oil, and is also a traditional Korean food found in "Uigwe", which is a collection of royal records.
※ Potential allergies: Edible fiowers, glutinous rice flour, non-glutinous rice flour, cooking oil (soybean), starch syrup, and sugar
- Royal Honey Cookie : Royal Honey Cookie, which means a "snack that serves as a medicine", is a traditional snack made by feeding finely sieved wheat flour with oil, kneading it with honey, turning it into a flower shape, frying it, and soaking it in grain syrup. It is a well-known Korean traditional snack that is consistently loved by people of all ages and genders and has received popularity, especially among young Koreans.
※ Potential allergies: flour, cinnamon powder, jujube, pine nut, sesame oil, soju, ginger, sugar, and grain syrup (If you have jujube or pine nut allergy, they may be excluded.)
- Candied Kumquat : Candied Kumquat is a traditional Korean snack made by boiling down deseeded Geumgyul
※ Potential allergies: Kumquat, sugar, starch syrup, and grain syrup
- Candied Raspberry : Candied Raspberry is a traditional snack made with sliced strawberries with their stems removed and covering them with sugar and drying them.
※ Potential allergies: strawberry and sugar
- Candied Omija Pear : Candied Omija Pear is a traditional Korean snack made by peeling and slicing pears long and thin, soaking them with Omija, and drying them. It has a unique combination of the crispness of pears and the chewy texture of Candy.
※ Potential allergies: Omija, pear, pine nut, sugar, and water (If you have a pine nut allergy, it may be excluded.)
- Sweet Walnut Puffs : Sweet Walnut Puffs is a traditional Korean snack made from peeled walnuts boiled down with sugar and then fried in oil.
※ Potential allergies: walnut, cooking oil (soybean), sugar, and starch syrup
(If you have a walnut allergy, Bean Tea Confectionery will be served instead.)
- Bean Tea Confectionery : Bean Tea Confectionery is a traditional Korean snack made by kneading roasted soy flour with honey and turning it into shapes by putting it on a Confectionery board.
※ Potential allergies: soybean, honey, starch syrup, and sugar
- Omija Tea: Omija Tea is a sweet, sour, and refreshing tea brewed by steeping Omija, which translates to "that which has five tastes: sour, bitter, sweet, tart, and salty" in cold water.

- Plum Blossom Tea : Plum Blossom Tea is an aromatic and warm tea made by brewing dried plum blossoms, a renowned flower of spring, in hot water.
