The Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles (Director Sangwon Jung) will host a fall classical concert titled "Melodies in Motion: Cinematic Soundtracks LIVE" on Wednesday, September 13th at 7:00 PM in Ari Hall on the 3rd floor of the Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles (KCCLA).
The upcoming performance will feature a diverse selection of music centered around the theme of familiar soundtracks from both Korean and American movies, musicals, and dramas. The program will encompass timeless musical classics such as "Sound of Music," "South Pacific," and "West Side Story," alongside notable soundtracks like "Lascia ch’io pianga" from the film "Farinelli." You can also look forward to Korean soundtracks such as "When I Leave" from the K-drama "Empress Myeongseong" and "Magic Lily" by the young Korean singer-songwriter Ahn Ye-eun, which gained popularity in the beloved K-drama "The Rebel." Additionally, the performance will include the much-loved semi-classic song "On a Wonderful Day in October". To conclude the concert, there will be a 'sing-a-long' segment, providing an interactive and engaging experience for the audience.
Participating in this concert are soprano Courtney Taylor and tenor Todd Strange, who are currently active members of the LA Opera and LA Master Chorale and bass Paul An. Moreover, Sun-Joo Yeo, a member with the longest tenure among Korean performers active in the LA Opera and LA Master Chorale, will be the musical director for this concert, promising a high-quality classical performance.
