Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles and 325KAMRA present:
“FINDING FAMILY: Korean adoptees share DNA reunion stories”
Founded in 2015 by five Korean adoptees, 325KAMRA is a global non-profit organization devoted to reuniting Korean adoptees with biological family through the use of DNA. To date, 325KAMRA has logged 400 immediate family DNA matches and vows to continue connecting even more families well into the future.
During this special presentation:
*Learn how DNA is used as a tool for birth family searches.
*Hear compelling stories from adoptees that 325KAMRA helped reunite.
*Watch scenes of Emmy Award-winning documentarian Deann Borshay Liem’s work-in-progress project, “Relative Strangers,” which follows a group of mixed-race adopted Koreans - the adult children of U.S. servicemen and Korean women as they team up with search experts and DNA specialists in their decades-long quest to find their first families.
Open to the public, this program will include a Q&A session and conclude with a reception. Free DNA testing will be available on-site.
