The Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles (Director: Sangwon Jung) will host a Korea-Brazil Cultural Night concert on October 23rd at Ari Hall. The event celebrates the upcoming G20 Summit in Brazil and aims to strengthen mutual understanding and cultural exchange between the two countries.
The concert will feature fusion jazz performances blending traditional Korean and Brazilian music. Marcel Camargo, a Brazilian jazz guitarist, will perform Brazilian jazz pieces. Marcel has worked with notable artists such as Macy Gray, Michael Buble, and Jason Mraz and was recently nominated for a Grammy with the album Flor.
Representing Korea, jazz pianist and composer Iseul Kim will showcase her unique tango jazz style, combining modern music influences. Kim has performed at major festivals in Korea and internationally and released three albums. Additionally, Gamin, a UCLA professor and traditional Korean instrument player, will present fusion jazz based on Korean traditional music.
