The Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles (Wijin Park, Director) and Korean traditional music (Gugak) artist, Seo-Yoon Jang present a special online project, English Gugak Series 'Korean Traditional Music 101: Sound of Korea' Ep 8. Jeong-ga on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 on the KCCLA YouTube channel.

The eighth episode is ' Jeong-ga' which means “righteous song”. It was a vocal genre that was enjoyed by the noblemen. Back then, people of high status thought it was undignified to show their emotions in music, so the melodic lines and ornaments give a pure and organized impression. Nowadays Jeong-ga is sung by professional Jeong-ga singers as it requires a sensitive control of vibrato and complex pitch changes.
